Tips & Tricks for a Romantic Bedroom Refresh

It’s February, which means love is in the air! Whether you choose to sleep alone or with someone special, everyone deserves a place to rest that they love just as much as the person closest to them. With that said, here are some of our favorite tips for giving your bedroom a romantic refresh you’re sure to love!

First, let’s start with the centerpiece of the room, the bed itself. To create the most romantic look possible, you’ll want to make sure that everything matches together. Your fitted sheet, top sheet, comforter/duvet, and pillowcases should all complement each other perfectly! Personally, I’d recommend purchasing some sort of collection so that all your products come from the same manufacturer; this will help minimize color differences and ensure the most romantic, cohesive look possible. If your feeling festive, look for a collection with color options featuring shades of red, white, and/or pink, such as our own Criss Cross Italian Duvet and Sheet Set Collection (pictured above).

Next, let’s talk about your nightstand. Most people just use it as an easy place to charge devices overnight, which I actually don’t recommend, but that’s a story for another day. Regardless, the way your stand is decorated greatly contributes to the overall feel of your bedroom. First, you’ll want to make sure the essentials are organized. Everything you store there should look neat and orderly: glasses, water, alarm clock, and anything else you might need. Once your basics are covered, it’s time to spruce it up; add a few decorations like flowers or a lamp to match your personality. Even better, consider color-coordinating both your sheets and decorations; for example, if your bed sheets primarily uses shades of red and white, add a vase of roses to complete the romantic look (or pick some blue delphiniums if you’re feeling patriotic!).

Finally, let’s wrap up with some lighting tips. I would highly suggest investing in at least one good quality lamp that matches the décor of your room if you haven’t already. The warm, dim light creates a nice, inviting atmosphere for relaxation either on your own or with others; my housemate actually has multiple lamps both in his room and in our living room to get the exact amount of warm light he needs for whatever he’s doing. Somewhat related, if you’re like me and live in the city, you might find that your bedroom is too bright to fall asleep in even with the lights off; if that’s the case, I would strongly recommend some blackout curtains to help block out some of that light and enjoy a restful sleep.

And there you have it! Those are our best pieces of advice for giving your bedroom a romantic refresh. Which one was your favorite? Be sure to let us know on any of our social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. Y’all stay cozy now!
